Original Paintings
1. Can I commission artwork?
Absolutely! Have you checked out our Commissions page?
For a commissioned piece, just fill out the contact form or send an email to info@smartdecarts.com.
We will work together to determine preferences in terms of colours and style, and what size will work best for your space. Once we have agreed upon the key details of your commission, we will create a custom checkout for you. Custom orders can take anything from between 1 to 3 months to complete, depending on your preferred style.
2. Is smART Decorative Arts Original Artwork ready to hang?
UK - YES. If you're shipping within UK, all original paintings will arrive ready to hang, with D-ring attachments appropriate to the size of the piece and high grade picture wire, no matter the size or your location.
Everywhere Else - This is dependent on the size and style of the painting. Please check the artwork description for shipping and packaging details to see if the piece you have chosen is ready to hang.
If you are outside of the UK and the piece you have selected can be sent unframed via a mailing tube, it is very easy and much less expensive for you to get the work reframed locally than to absorb additional shipping costs. However, if you would like your piece to remain on the frame, or your chosen work cannot be rolled, please follow the instructions in the artwork description or email info@smartdecarts.com as additional costs will apply.
3. How much does shipping cost?
All original artwork prices are inclusive of conservation grade packaging materials, to ensure each piece is safe and secure during the journey to you.
UK: Shipping costs start at £5.00 per item for 10” and 12” minis. Shipping costs increase incrementally in relation to the size of the piece. Please see individual items for specific shipping costs.
European Union: Shipping costs start at £15.00 per item for 10” and 12” minis. Shipping costs increase incrementally in relation to the size of the piece. Please see individual items for specific shipping costs.
Everywhere Else: Shipping costs for the rest of the world range from £30.00 to £250.00 depending on the size and style of your artwork, and destination. Please follow the instructions in the artwork description for a bespoke shipping quote.
4. Does shipping cost include taxes & customs fees?
No. For international sales, any taxes, custom duties and fees that may occur in the receiving country are the responsibility of the buyer. If you would like to learn more about the rules in your country, you can contact your local customs authority.
5. When will my artwork be shipped?
Due to current covid-19 restrictions, shipping times have been extended. All paintings will be dispatched within 10 business days of your order, unless otherwise stated.
6. How long will it take for my artwork to arrive?
Artworks shipped within the UK should arrive within 5 business days of dispatch. All our deliveries are tracked.
International orders usually take between 5-15 business days, following dispatch; however, due o covid-19 restrictions this has been extended to 10-30 business days. Depending on your region and the time of year, some artworks may be delayed due to customs and holidays.
7. Can I return my artwork?
As a formal rule for conducting business with original artworks, all sales through smART Decorative Arts are final. However, if there is an extenuating circumstance, which you believe warrants the return of a recently purchased product, please contact us directly, within 5 days of delivery, via info@smartdecarts.com.
Please note that buyers are responsible for all shipping costs of returning the item.
The artwork must be in the same condition as it arrived and in appropriate packaging–ideally in its original packaging.
For lost or damaged artworks please send a photo of the damage, so that I can learn more about what went wrong with the shipment. You will be fully refunded or can make an exchange if such an event occurs.

8. Can I reproduce my Original Artwork
smART Decorative Arts retains all copyrights to original artwork, unless explicitly stated in a signed licensing agreement. Please contact us at info@smartdecarts.com if you have any queries regarding copyrights and licensing.
